THE MARKS OF THE CHRISTIAN LIFE
Frank Ottati
Philippians 4:4-7 (LB) "Always be full of joy in the Lord; I
say it again, rejoice! Let every one see that you are unselfish and
considerate in all you do. Remember that the Lord is coming soon. Don't
worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your
needs, and don't forget to thank Him for His answers. If you do this,
you will experience God's peace. His peace will keep your thoughts .quiet
and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus"
BE FULL OF JOY IN THE LORD
"If we are heaven-bound, how can we go as a band of mourners, groaning
and complaining all along the way to our Father's house?" M of H. p.
251.
BE CONSIDERATE TO OTHERS The word considerate in Greek is the word
epieikeia, that means justice and something better than justice. Justice
is human; epieikeia is divine. Ex:: The adulterous woman. Justice required
stoning. Jesus used epieikeia: kindness, forgiveness. She became a follower
of Jesus. N
BE ANXIOUS (WORRY) FOR NOTHING PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING
You can't change the past or control the future. Jesus said: "Don't
be anxious about tomorrow, God will take care of your tomorrow too.
Live one day at the time"
BE THANKFULL TO GOD IN ALL THINGS
"Nothing tends more to promote health of body and soul than does a spirit
of gratitude and praise" Ministry.of Healing p. 252.
RESULTS: AS YOU TRUST IN JESUS YOU WILL EXPERIENCE GOD'S PEACE, YOUR
THOUGHTS WILL BE GUARDED
Invitation: To abide, trust in Jesus daily in order to develop these
