Sermon on the Life of David #3

"Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man (and the woman) who trusts in Him! Ps. 34:8

David was leaning on five Crutches. As the Crutches were removed one by one something happened to him:

He lost Crutch #1, his JOB, 1 Samuel. 19:8-10

He lost Crutch #2, his WIFE, 1 Sam. 19:11-17

He lost Crutch #3, his PASTOR, 1 Sam. 19:18-24

He lost Crutch #4, his BEST FRIEND, 1 Sam. 20

He lost Crutch #5, his SELF-RESPECT, 1 Sam. 21:10-15

DAVID LEARNED TO LEAN COMPLETELY ON THE LORD
Under these circumstances David wrote Psalm 34
He learned to LEAN on the Lord at all times.
He learned to TRUST in the Lord no matter what.

The Lord permits that some crutches be removed so we may lean completely ON HIM who is our true and only CRUTCH.
